Not Every Footprint is Carbon
As sustainability becomes a central business priority, many technology companies – especially those developing software – have embraced the responsibility of managing and reducing their carbon footprint.
Whether driven by environmental awareness, regulatory frameworks, or the growing expectations of investors, employees, and customers, sustainability has become a core part of doing business. It is no longer a niche initiative – it is mainstream, and rightly so.
In the messaging industry, our work connects people digitally. Every day, messages travel across cities, countries, and continents in a fraction of a second, bringing people together in ways that, just a few years ago, felt almost impossible.
This connection has tremendous value – it keeps us close, even when we are far apart. But it also means that more and more of our lives are spent online.
That is why we continue to recognize the importance of real connection – the kind that happens face-to-face, in shared spaces, and in moments you cannot download or replay.
And that led us to ask ourselves:
What kind of footprint do we want to leave in real life?
Not just the one you can calculate in tons of CO₂.
Not just the one written in spreadsheets or offset reports.
But the one that is harder to measure and yet deeply meaningful.
The kind of footprint left by muddy sneakers, scraped knees, and laughter echoing from a football field.
The one we create when we invest in children – in their movement, their confidence, their ability to dream, and their right to play – giving them more time together in the real world, and less time behind screens.
Why offline matters – and why football?
At HORISEN, we believe in children’s right to grow through movement, connection, and play.
We believe that ambition is not something you are taught – it is something you live. It grows in the moment a child dares to take a shot, misses, and hears a teammate say, “Try again.” Those moments shape character. They build resilience. They create confidence that lasts far beyond the pitch.
We also believe that childhood should include more time under the open sky and less time behind screens. Time spent running, laughing, losing, winning, and learning together. These experiences are not just games – they are life lessons, preparing children for the challenges and opportunities ahead.
Football is the perfect channel for this. It gives kids what digital spaces never can: a place to run freely, fall safely, laugh loudly, and try again without fear. On the field, they learn that effort matters, that teamwork is powerful, and that aiming high is always worth it.
Through our support for initiatives like Giocafútbol, we want to give children more of what truly matters: real experiences in the real world. It’s about creating opportunities for them to:
- Run under the open sky instead of staring into glowing screens
- Win and lose together, rather than scrolling alone
- Grow through play, not just performance
Every training session, every pass, every shared victory and defeat helps social skills take root, resilience to strengthen, and friendships to blossom.
Because in the end, this is not about us.
HORISEN and Giocafútbol are simply the channels through which we turn this belief in real connection into action – because what matters is not our footprint, but the real-life footprints children leave behind as they play, grow, and dream.
Our Vision of Sustainability
Sustainability is often spoken of in terms of carbon footprints, emissions, and neutrality. These are vital goals – but true sustainability also has a human side. It is about the kind of world being created for children, the next generation who will inherit both the planet and the communities we build today.
A sustainable future is not only green, but also active, inclusive, and full of opportunities for young people to grow. It is a future where children spend more time outside than on screens, discovering resilience through play, learning teamwork on the pitch, and building friendships that last.
That is why support for children’s activities matters. On the pitch, they learn teamwork, effort, and ambition. They discover confidence in themselves and trust in others.
These are the foundations of a society that is not only greener, but stronger and more connected, and above all, more human.
Let’s Leave the Right Footprint
Together with Giocafútbol, we support children where it matters most – helping them leave real footprints on the pitch and in the world around them..
Our contribution is not about branding or visibility. It is about contributing to a future we believe in – one where children grow up physically active, emotionally strong, and socially connected. It is our way of making a lasting, human impact. A footprint that does not vanish with the next update or fade with the next trend.
That is why we chose to count something else:
The footsteps of kids playing together.
The bonds they build.
The dreams they begin to believe in.
This is what we support.
This is what we are grateful to be part of, through Giocafútbol.
This is our contribution to the real-life footprint.
And we invite others to join us – because when we support kids being outside, we shape the future, together.
